PERELADA CASTLE

Perelada Comercial, S.A.

Since Miguel Mateu acquired the Perelada Castle in 1923, three generations of the Suqué Mateu family have worked to build an offering with great personality capable of satisfying the most demanding gourmets.

Firstly, it was about demonstrating that the privileged geoclimatic conditions of the Empordà, thanks to its proximity to the Mediterranean and the extraordinary heterogeneity of its soils, were suitable for obtaining elegant wines, with structure and a marked personality. Today the most demanding palates endorse the work carried out and place the wines of Castillo Perelada in their honor rolls.

After the first few years of producing still wines, they also began to produce sparkling wines. In a short time, the then called Perelada Champagne acquired great prestige that it continues to enjoy today, protected by the D.O. Digging.

At the end of the sixties, and at the initiative of Arturo Suqué, son-in-law of Miguel Mateu, the production of sparkling wines began. Two of them, Blanc Pescador and Cresta Rosa, have established themselves among the best-selling wines in our country.

Currently Javier Suqué, grandson of the founder, is in charge of keeping alive that spirit of combining tradition and modernity that has always characterized the Perelada Group wineries. He has also led the commitment to the renowned D.O.C. Priorat, with the creation of the new Casa Gran del Siurana project.

The marketing of the Perelada Group's wines and cavas and the evidence that consumers increasingly want to try new and unique things, led to the creation of a distributor, Perelada Comercial, whose greatest ambition is to offer a highly prestigious range: all the Perelada Group's own brands, of course, but also a selection of non-own brands of wines, spirits, non-alcoholic beverages and food products whose common denominator is quality.
