Red wine with 6 months in barrel from the La Finca vineyard of Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro.
Varieties
100% Fine Red
Tasting note
Visually, the violet edges stand out against the cherry red color of a very clean and bright wine.
On the nose, the range of red fruits, such as raspberry and cherry, predominate with a high aromatic intensity, combining with tones of cocoa, coffee and roasted notes, typical of the six months of its stay in the barrel.
In the mouth, a fresh and elegant wine, with an easy and balanced entry into the mouth, leaving sensations of meatiness and volume as it passes through. In the aftertaste, we once again remember all the fruity tones detected in the olfactory phase.
Vineyard
For the production of this wine, only vineyards from the estate that gives it its name have been selected. “Finca La Planta”, property of the Arzuaga Navarro family, located a few kilometers from the winery, in the heart of Ribera del Duero.
The altitude of 911 m, the clay-calcareous soil and the continental climate provide the estate with very particular characteristics, which are reflected both in the grapes and later in the wine.
Preparation and Aging
The grapes are always harvested by hand, in boxes of no more than 15 kg, and are collected under very particular parameters of maturity, always seeking to enhance the olfactory-gustatory characteristics, which will later develop in the wine.
Once in the winery, the clusters are selected, destemmed and vatted to carry out a cold pre-fermentation maceration for two days in stainless steel tanks, before carrying out alcoholic fermentation at 22ºC for another 7 days.
Once the fermentations are finished, the wine will be aged for six months in French and American oak barrels.

ARZUAGA NAVARRO WINERY
Example of dedication and passion for the land and wine.
Founded in the early 90s by the Arzuaga Navarro family, it stands near the Duero and adorns a road as Castilian as the one that connects Soria with Valladolid. A hymn to stone, solid and rustic with monastic evocation due to its arcades, towers on the sides and, in the center, the bell tower crowned by the wind vane.
Outside the stone and inside the warm wood of the elm welcome the visitor and prepare their mood to try some special wines.
It was Florentino Arzuaga, a great wine lover, who founded Bodegas Arzuaga-Navarro after purchasing Finca La Planta, located in the Valladolid town of Quintanilla de Onísimo, and a place where the flora and fauna of the area coexist. A flora composed of pines, oaks and junipers and a fauna made up of wild boars and deer, in it he saw the great power of the estate that, due to its size, has its own horizon, then came the vines, the winery and the wine; a red just the way he liked it: skeletonized but elegant, robust and complex at the same time. The Arzuaga family carries in their spirit the tenacity of the entrepreneur but with a sensitivity for aesthetics and perfection.
Quality is fundamental in Arzuaga-Navarro, it is the most pampered and cared for aspect. This attention begins in the vineyard, because it is impossible to make a good wine without healthy, quality grapes. Here, care is taken to ensure that yields are very limited in line with the low-fertility soils and the harsh Castilian climate, since too high a production would reduce the concentration and quality of the wine. The excellent quality of its grapes, an inexcusable premise of good wine, the same with which the vineyards are cared for and the passion at work have made its wines already one of the most prestigious in the Denomination of Origin of the Ribera del Duero.
The Arzuaga-Navarro Winery has 150 hectares of vineyards, distributed between the vicinity of the winery and the natural space of the La Planta estate. The vineyards of Arzuaga-Navarro enjoy a unique climate: The day is characterized by clear sunshine, while the night is cool and humid. This climatic combination makes the ripening of the grapes slow and perfect, the result being a healthy, tinted and sugary fruit, with an aromatic acidity. In this Castilian region, with low fertility soils, the Tinto Fino or Tempranillo varieties are grown, and the French varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. 80% of the vineyards are over 20 years old with production of more or less 4.00 kg/ha. On the other hand, La Bodega Arzuaga-Navarro has vineyards outside the province of Valladolid, specifically in the town of Malagón, in Ciudad Real, where it produces the Pago Florentino wine.
